Here is a "surprise" in a Father/Bride dance. I have to admit, no one expects this in the Father/Bride dance so it's a good idea. For me, the first part of this goes on too long. It's about three and a half minutes of the typical wedding dance (Giggle Giggle, Sway Sway, Giggle Giggle) before it pops into something unexpected:
Important Tip: Don't Underestimate the Element of Surprise!
Everyone likes to surprise someone they care about. Oddly enough, a wedding dance is a great opportunity for that... because a wedding is usually SO planned that no one expects something not on the agenda. People will be surprised that you choreographed or rehearsed your dance to begin with... but if there is an element of surprise to it also - then you have a memorable event!

So don't tell them what you have planned. Don't let everyone in on it. Don't even tell them you are taking lessons. I've helped the bride and groom take the floor and surprise everyone at their wedding with fantastic results. I've helped the wedding party pull off a surprise on everyone else at the reception. I've even helped the bridal party pull off a dance that no one was expecting -- not even the groom!
Your wedding dance can be whatever you want it to be. Allow YOURSELF to be surprised by what it can be!
